Twenty years and counting! I have worked for this
company for twenty years this coming January. I have been asked
why? When the common practice is to change jobs every two years.
I came to this company when I was thirty-eight looking for a stable,
but small growing company. Two things had impressed me to accept
the job and it still exists today for those that want to strive
for it.
The 1st is you are your own boss at your unit.
This sounds trivial, but in the world of big business with hundreds
of units and thousands of employees you're a number not
a person. Where else can you work and be on a first name basis
with the owner?
The 2nd reason is the grass is always greener on
the other side of the fence, so they say. I feel I have spent
many hours building a history with this company. With that time
and effort, comes respect for my knowledge as well as the ease
of doing my job well. This affords me peace of mind that my efforts
are contributing to the company as well as affording me a personal
life. Why jump from job to job for a minimal raise, of the promise
of advancement that will only come to a few. Starting over means
just that, starting from ground zero.

Hello, my name is Teri Franz and I am a proud employee
of the Folks Southern Kitchen in Stockbridge,
Georgia. I was hired on August 17, 1993 and it doesn't seem
like it's been almost ten years. I learned real fast how
great our food is and I soon realized that every time I served
a meal to a guest just how much they really loved our food. Also,
my guest and myself began a relationship that to this day means
a lot to me and to them. Between our service and our food it has
truly been a "Win Win" situation. Times are hard,
but our guests keep coming back week after week for our great
food and service. Over the years I have thought about changing
jobs or going to work at another restaurant, but the thing that
keeps me at Folks is our great food and service and that our food
will never fail our guest and neither will I.
